Increase revenue with automated guest upsells
Milo helps you offer additional services to guests at the right moment during their journey, allowing you to create new revenue opportunities while keeping the experience simple for both you and your guests.
You can configure different types of upsells, define when they are offered, set pricing rules, and let Milo handle the conversation with guests.
Available upsells include:
Early check-in: Offer guests the possibility to access the property earlier than the standard check-in time.
Late checkout: Allow guests to extend their departure time for an additional fee.
Extra nights: Let guests extend their stay when availability allows.
Custom upsells: Create your own services, such as airport transfers, additional cleaning, or any other paid service.
Configuring an upsell
To configure an upsell:
Go to Milo AI → Operations Agent.
Open the Upsells tab.
Select the upsell you want to configure or create a new custom upsell.
Adjust the availability, pricing, and offer settings.
Save your changes.
Availability settings
For each upsell, you can control where and when it is available.
You can choose:
Which properties can offer the upsell.
Which channels it applies to.
When Milo can offer it during the reservation journey.
For example, you can enable early check-in only for specific properties or restrict an offer to certain booking channels.
Pricing and conditions
Each upsell has its own pricing configuration.
Depending on the upsell type, you can set:
A fixed price.
A price per night.
A price per item or unit.
Percentage-based pricing (for applicable upsells).
You can also define specific conditions, such as:
How many days before arrival or departure the offer can be requested.
Which days of the week the offer applies to.
Maximum duration for extensions.
Managing custom upsells
Custom upsells allow you to create your own paid services adapted to your business.
When creating a custom upsell, you can define:
Name and description of the service.
Applicable properties.
Availability by channel.
Pricing model.
When Milo should offer the service.
Whether it should appear in the guest portal.
Examples of custom upsells:
Airport transfer.
Extra cleaning.
Breakfast.
Equipment rental.
Local experiences.
How Milo handles upsells
Once configured, Milo can automatically offer available upsells to guests through conversations and the guest portal.
Milo uses the reservation details and your configured rules to determine when an offer is relevant. When a guest accepts an upsell, Milo guides them through the next steps based on your payment settings.
You can monitor upsell activity from Milo Hub and see what Milo has done across your properties.
Payment collection and Milo fees
When a guest purchases an upsell, payment can be collected in two ways:
Manual payment: Guests pay you directly using your preferred offline method, such as cash, bank transfer, or another payment method you manage yourself.
Online payment through Stripe: If you have connected your Stripe account, Milo can collect payments automatically from guests through Stripe.
For every upsell processed through Milo, a 5% platform fee is applied to the upsell amount.
Make sure your payment settings are configured before enabling paid upsells.
